A new link road will be constructed as part of the Raglan Avenue, Edward Street and South Road network upgrade to help remove the current dog-leg movement of traffic travelling between Edward Street and Raglan Avenue and improve safety for road users.

This project forms part of the $850m Broader Network Upgrade package of works as part of the River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project.

Concept design

What's happening

A new link road will be built re-routing traffic travelling from Raglan Avenue to an upgraded four-way intersection at Edward Street and South Road.

As part of the project the signalised intersection and right turn movement will be removed at Raglan Avenue and South Road.

The Price Street and South Road intersection will be upgraded to include the installation of traffic signals, pedestrian crossing and a right turn access lane into Castle Plaza.

This project creates an opportunity to improve the local amenity including landscaping, pedestrian crossing points, integrated cycle connections and pathways and indented bus bays.

Bus stop 15 Raglan Avenue (north and south) will be relocated to the new link road.

Bus stop 13 South Road (east and west) will be relocated to integrate with the new pedestrian crossing locations.
