As part of these broader network upgrades the T2D Project is constructing a new link road for motorists and residents at Selgar Avenue to link with the Tonsley precinct.

What to expect

Service utility works are being undertaken on Selgar Avenue, at the intersection of the new Selgar Avenue link road, to install SA Water infrastructure.

The following key activities will be undertaken as part of these works:

  • earthworks to remove asphalt and dig a trench to install SA Water main; and
  • asphalting to reinstate the area of works.

These works will be undertaken from Monday 9 October to Friday 3 November 2023, between 7am and 5pm, weather permitting. Selgar Avenue will remain open to traffic at all times. No works will be undertaken on Sundays.

To safely undertake these works, traffic will be reduced to a single lane with temporary traffic signals in place to control the direction of traffic. Speed restrictions will also be in place throughout the work area. This traffic management set up will remain in place at all times, including outside work hours, until the works are complete.

Pedestrians and cyclists are advised to take care when travelling through the area. For safety reasons there may be some restricted access. Where required, signage will be in place to direct pedestrians and cyclists to alternative access and/or detours.

Access to properties will be maintained at all times, with advance notice provided if there is a need to temporarily restrict access. Some noise disturbance can be expected at times while these works are completed, however the work will be managed to minimise disturbance to nearby businesses and residents as much as practically possible.
