A market call has been released which seeks land suitable for siting the tunnel segment precast facility as part of the North-South Corridor River Torrens to Darlington Project.

The South Australian Government is seeking suitable industrial land which offers greater than 12 hectares and is within 50 kilometres of the intersection of South Road and Cross Road, Clarence Park.

The site will be used to manufacture the precast concrete tunnel segments needed for the T2D Project to line the two sets of twin tunnels.

Land is required in a location that would allow 24/7 industrial operations, have existing heavy vehicle access routes to the South Road T2D Project site and be available for project use from mid-2024 to 2030.

The site will be ready for use by mid-2024, allowing works on the precast manufacturing facility to commence after the main contract has been awarded, which is also expected in mid-2024.

Main construction works are planned to commence in 2025, with tunnel boring machine (TBM) tunnelling works for the Southern Tunnel planned to start in 2026. The entire T2D Project will be open to traffic in 2031.

The 10.5 kilometre T2D Project will complete the North-South Corridor, creating 78 kilometres of non-stop, traffic light-free motorway between Gawler and Old Noarlunga.
