We are committed to enhancing both the new motorway and the communities along it.
The T2D Project is building more than a non-stop South Road - we’re creating greener, better-connected communities.
On major infrastructure projects, good urban design helps create a lasting, positive legacy for communities by shaping great places for people to connect. It’s about how the Project looks, feels and fits within the local environment.
Our initial community consultation has closed on the 10 new open spaces along the motorway that the T2D Project will deliver. These spaces will be welcoming places for people to connect, relax and enjoy, providing more opportunities for both play and sport – from playgrounds and grassed areas to courts and informal play spaces.
The designs we shared in November 2025 are drafts only and will need final agreement from local Councils before they’re confirmed. In 2026, we'll re-connect with local communities and stakeholders to provide further details on our designs.
